How a leader can lead a team to peak performance? (Summary)

How a leader can lead a team to peak performance? In the first stage, leaders have to bond a good relationship between all members and justify each person’s role and responsibilities. Besides that, leaders should also provide clear objectives and solid direction to the team. Next, leaders should remain optimistic and persist on original goal in addition to solve any conflict quickly. Then, a leader must help members in their progress while praising and reward them adequately. After that, distribute task based on the requirement with the team member’s potential. Upon completion of projects, leaders have to thank members and disband the team. Lastly, a leader should interview all members to review and record both the mistakes and victories of the team.

the most valuable thing in life is friendship

We, humans are born with intelligence to analyse and differentiate every person in our life. There are many type of people we will met in our life, for example: friends, family, colleague and e.t.c.  Some confess that friends are the most important person in our life, some feels that family is the most important group in our life, but as the old saying goes, “No man is an island”; we need a person to accompany us throughout our life. Through my experience, I disagree that friends are the most important thing in our life because friends are inconsistent. Besides, there are many other vital things or people in our lives, namely family members and personal development.

The first reason is because friends are not inconsistent. In other words, friends are not forever. Flashing back our memory to pre-primary school, most of us have already deleted all our friends list. Next, we went into primary school and most of the memory have become blurry. As time goes on, we have totally lost all connection with all of our primary school friends. Then, i came to secondary school and met a new bunch of friends and remain contact for the time being. Through all these examples of life, we can actually find out that our friends will kept on changing regardless of our will. In every different stage of our life, we will meet new friends and we have to adapt and gain new social knowledge. Besides that, as we grow older, our mind perception will become more materialistic rather than being naïve when we are a teenager. In my opinions, I think that friendship is just like a relationship which will begin and ends anytime.

Loyalty and trust is very questionable in friendship; betrayal and bad intention occurs among friendship. On the other hand, family will not normally turn against each other, the idiom ‘blood is thicker than water’  explains the importance and significance of our family member; the bond that we share is much stronger than the relationship we have with others.  In most of the situation, family will always accompany and try their level best to see us through the rough patch in our life. Besides that, family members which live under the same roof will have stronger bonds of relation compared to bonds between friends. Stronger bonds will lead to greater trust and loyalty among each other. Therefore, I feel that family is more important than friends.

Humans are easily affected by surroundings. For instance, when majority of the people are doing the same things whether it is ethical or unethical, we will eventually copy and imitate their action. “Two wrongs make a right” and “Bandwagon” concept are eventually applied in here. With all these concepts, we can conclude that friends play an important role in building and shaping our personalities and characteristics. For example, friends which have a good personalities will act as an angel to develop a well-rounded character while friends which have a lot of negative qualities will act as an devil and eventually able to tarnish our reputation. Therefore, I think we should choose personal development over friendship because it is our responsibility to make sure that no one deters us from what we need to develop ourselves constantly in life.

In a nutshell, I cannot agree that friends are the most important thing in life. It is because there are other thing such as family members, personal development, health and etc. which are more important than friendship. However, this does not mean that friends are unimportant! They are an integral part of our lives, but we need to be balanced in our view of friends, and make sure we know what is more important when making decisions in our lives.

Self Introduction

My name is Chew Yee Jian and I’m 18. I came from a place which is famous for the food called “Bak KutTeh”, Klang.

I have a 2 elder brothers and a lovely mother. My father has passed away when I was in standard 5 in primary school, since then I usually in the house with my mother because both of my brothers have already enrolled in varsity.

In 2013 June, it was the time for me to leave the home and enrolled in a university named Multimedia University  (MMU) in Malacca. On the first night in the hostel, I couldn’t really sleep well because I cried for a long time before I really fell asleep. The reason I cried was because I appreciate the effort that my mom had made, it was not easy for a single parents to actually grown her 3 children very well. Therefore, I decided to send a lovely “sms” to my mother on that night. Besides that, i wouldn’t say I am not afraid of a new place since I’m coming to Malacca without any friends accompanied.

My experience in MMU was quite good, it starts from the orientation where I had a lot of fun with my drama’s team. Then, it goes on to the first day of the semester where I met a lot of friends in my class. Even though I’m afraid of taking the first step to approach people, I usually will overcome those fear and talk to other people in the class. After a few weeks,  I  probably have recognise and remembered most of the classmates face and name and I have began to actually adapt to the environment of the campus.
The best experience that I had in my first semester was the chance to collaborate together with a few Namibian student. I had a great time working together with them and for the first time I am able to approach a new foreign culture and people.

5 months were past, and I am currently in the 2nd semester of foundation, hopefully there will be more special experience and knowledge for me to gained throughout the semester.
